About Us

Eco tourism - Our approach to a better coexistence.

Brunei is an extraordinary destination for ecotourism with its untouched rainforest, local communities and unique flora and fauna. While ecotourism in Brunei caters to the travellers, it is also of great importance to ensure that our environment remains in good sustainable condition.

The International Ecotourism Society defines ecotourism as "responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people."

Tourism and travel, as global industries, have a profound impact on the environment and cultures of the world. Fragile natural resources like forests can be damaged or depleted by too many visitors or irresponsible use. Animal habitats can be devastated by visitors and ecosystems altered forever.

The aim of all ecotourism in Brunei is to reduce the negative impacts on the surrounding environment, and even try returning something back into the environment, for example, volunteering or planting new trees.

The high complexity of the Bornean tropical rainforest has created many niches that accommodate a rich diversity of fauna and certain animals only endemic to our beautiful rainforest with its inimitable ecosystem.

Unfortunately, the introduction of humans to Borneo coincided with the decline of many native animals and plants. Sumbiling Eco Village is trying to have a positive effect on our environment and minimises the impacts of ecological effects on the environment.

Discover the rainforest with the help of experienced and knowledgeable locals as well as our experienced team with more than 10 years experience.
